Welcome at the Miyagawa-cho hanamachi,
the geiko area of Hosoi Mura.
When a Maiko becomes Geiko, there is a ceremony & performance called erikae.
Erikae ( 襟替え ) means 'turning of the collar':
the new Geiko now exchanges her red patterned collar for a white one.
On monday 10-18 4 pm Snr Maiko Toshiki will celebrate her erikae.
She will perform a dance interpretation of the Japanese tale "The Peony Princess".
